Welcome to Avanti Dobermans, a small, boutique breeder dedicated to preserving and celebrating the remarkable Doberman Pinscher. Our dogs are family first—raised in our home alongside my partner and son, where they are an active and cherished part of everyday life. At Avanti, our breeding program is built on a foundation of health, sound temperament, structure, and breed type, with the goal of producing exceptional companions that honor the Doberman Breed Standard.
My name is Joanne Lusted, and my passion for dogs began long before I ever owned one. Around the age of ten, I borrowed an illustrated children’s book from our local library about training your new puppy—my determined (though unsuccessful) attempt to convince my parents that I was ready for a dog of my own. That childhood dream finally became reality in 2010 when my first dog—and first Doberman—Reyna came into my life.
From that moment, I was captivated by the world of dogs. I immersed myself in learning about canine training, nutrition, dog sports, conformation, and, most importantly, the Doberman breed itself. Years of research and dedication eventually led me to Denise Kamine of A-List Dobermans in Hartland, Wisconsin. What began as a shared passion quickly grew into a lasting friendship, mentorship, and extended family bond.
Anyone involved in breeding quality dogs will tell you that great mentorship is invaluable. Much of my growth, knowledge, and success has been shaped by Denise’s guidance, support, and trust. I am deeply grateful not only for her mentorship, but also for the opportunity to co-own and co-breed some of our most beloved dogs together. You will notice the A-List prefix alongside our Avanti prefix in many of our dogs—a reflection of the collaborative relationship we share as we continue to breed, show, and promote Dobermans in both Canada and the United States.
I am proud to be an active member of multiple breed and kennel organizations, including the Canadian Kennel Club, Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada, Doberman Pinscher Club of America, Doberman Pinscher Club of Greater Milwaukee, and the Greater Mid-Ontario Doberman Fanciers Club.
