Responsible Breeders of Canada
Welcome to Responsible Breeders of Canada, a community of ethical and dedicated dog breeders committed to promoting responsible breeding practices. Our marketplace, in conjunction with Paw Privileges, champions responsible breeders and owners, creating a network that values the health and well-being of our beloved canine companions.
Our Mission
At Responsible Breeders of Canada, our mission is to elevate the standards of dog breeding in Canada by connecting prospective dog owners with breeders who prioritize the health, temperament, and long-term welfare of their dogs. We believe that responsible breeding is essential for the overall well-being of the breed and the happiness of both dogs and their owners.
Our Network
We are proud to collaborate with Paw Privileges, a rewards program designed to support responsible dog breeders and owners. Together with our sponsors, we are committed to showcasing responsible breeding practices and rewarding those who make responsible choices in pet ownership. Our goal is to create a supportive and informed community that fosters better breeding and ownership experiences.
Our Commitment
All breeders listed on our marketplace have met or exceeded our stringent membership requirements, ensuring that they uphold the highest standards of responsible breeding. Our requirements include:
1. DNA Breed-Specific Health Testing:
Each breeder conducts comprehensive DNA testing to identify and mitigate breed-specific health issues.
2. Breed-Specific X-rays and Advanced OFA Testing:
Breeders perform thorough x-rays and advanced OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) testing to ensure the physical health of their dogs.
3. Breeder Assist/Return Clause:
Our breeders include a clause in their contracts that allows for the return or assistance in rehoming a dog, ensuring that no dog is left without support.
4. Lifetime Support:
Breeders provide lifetime support to their puppy owners, offering guidance and assistance throughout the dog’s life.
5. Temperament Testing and Breeder Placement: Breeders engage in temperament testing and careful placement of their puppies to ensure they match well with their new families.
