At Four Point Kennels, we believe that the true essence of the Small Munsterlander lies in its ability to be equally comfortable as a loyal family companion and as a dependable field partner for upland and waterfowl hunting. Our breeding philosophy centers on producing dogs with:
• Balanced, stable temperaments suited to both home life and game work
• Strong scenting ability and natural retrieving instincts
• Correct structure and breed-typical soundness
• Genetic health backed by comprehensive testing and evaluation
Every breeding female in our program meets breed standards set by the Small Münsterlander Club of America (SMCA) and is evaluated for hip health through PennHIP or OFA, ensuring only sound dogs contribute to our lines. We also utilize Embark genetic screening to monitor health markers, body traits, and inbreeding coefficients — helping us make responsible decisions that strengthen the breed over time.
Puppies at Four Point Kennels are nurtured in a family environment where early socialization and purposeful exposure to varied surfaces, sounds, and experiences lays a foundation for confidence and adaptability. Before joining their new homes, each puppy:
• Is micro-chipped, vaccinated, and dewormed
• Is evaluated for conformation and temperament
• Is registered with the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA)
• Comes with a six-year health guarantee covering major genetic and hip conditions
We intentionally match puppies with owners based on hunting experience, training goals, and lifestyle to ensure that every dog is placed where it can thrive as both a worker and a beloved family member. Due to our focus on maintaining the Small Munsterlander’s hunting ability and ethical stewardship of the breed, we only sell to homes committed to hunting and NAVHDA testing participation.
Our breeding dogs bring together top international and North American bloodlines recognized for performance, temperament, and versatility. Many of our dogs have been imported from notable European kennels and tested through NAVHDA Natural Ability, Utility Preparatory, and Utility tests, showcasing their hunting drive, trainability, and cooperative temperaments. Standouts in the program include dogs like:
• Camilo Matice van de Chesannehof, a Dutch import known for field aptitude and retrieving instinct
• Four Point’s Fabio, a homebred NAVHDA-tested versatile hunter
• Four Point’s Good Luck Charm, a strong retriever with stylish, classic pointing ability
• Imported and proven European additions that enrich the genetic foundation of our lines
Each of these individuals contributes to our mission of producing capable, versatile dogs that reflect the best qualities of the Small Munsterlander breed.
At Four Point Kennels, our commitment doesn’t end when a puppy goes home. We support owners with training advice, temperament insights, and resources to help cultivate well-rounded hunting companions. Whether you’re preparing for NAVHDA testing, working game birds, or enjoying outdoor adventures with your dog, we walk alongside you throughout your journey.
Our goal is to place confident, well-socialized dogs into homes that value responsible ownership, ethical stewardship, and the rich heritage of the Small Munsterlander.
